All projects below include programming, pre-planning and design services as well as additional construction phase services beyond traditional architectural contracts.

  • Baltimore City Public Schools, CIP, Energy Savings This project consisted of renovations of school facilities for energy savings program, which included the replacement of all doors and windows. Scope of services included working with Baltimore City and reviewing all of the construction documents for completeness, constructability and compliance in coordination with the Department of General Services, State of Maryland for their review and approval. Some of the facilities we have completed are listed below:

  • Baltimore City Public Schools - Construction Management (2011) Mimar performed design and programming/ construction management services for Federal Stimulus Capital Improvement Program. The project encompassed 25 school buildings for a total of approximately 20 million dollars. The project consisted of construction administration for the replacement of prime building systems and components including HVAC, electrical, building envelope and finishes, civil, architectural, structural & engineering expertise, communication skills, and customer service competence were essential to the successful completion of this project. Some of the completed facilities for BCPSS are listed below

  • Baltimore City 26 Public Schools, Construction Management Renovations, expansions and modification of on-going construction projects for several Baltimore City Public Schools from 2005 – 2009. Construction cost approximately $86 million. MME’s scope of work included Construction Management, Quality Control and Construction monitoring. Some of the completed facilities for BCPSS are listed below:

  • Summerfield Elementary School, Guilford County Schools (North Carolina) Expansion of elementary capacity and programming and Incorporation of additional shared community use of the elementary school facility with the town of Summerfield, NC. Completed with follow-on restoration of historic gymnasium 

  • Shikellamy Middle School (NEW), Shikellamy School District (Sunbury, Pennsylvania) New middle school design 

 

  • Williamsport Middle School, Williamsport School District (Williamsport, Pennsylvania) Additions and renovations to the former Roosevelt building as the district's middle school$35million addition/renovation project 

  • Mifflin County Schools (Lewistown, Pennsylvania) Renovations and additions projects at 6 elementary, middle and junior high school buildings as part of $70 million construction program as part of prior master planning phase. Several facilities already completed, remaining currently underway

 

  • McCall Middle School, Montoursville Area School District (Montoursville, Pennsylvania) Renovations and additions to the middle school completed while occupiedAdditional services during construction were provided to achieve sustainability rating for the schoolProject was first in the state of Pennsylvania to qualify as a "green school" under the alternative Green Globes(TM) program

 

  • Mount Union Junior Senior High School, Mount Union School District (Pennsylvania) Complete rehabilitation and expansion of existing junior senior high school to create "school within a school" structure of 7-9 and 10-12 grade studentsAddition of a new District Administration OfficeServices included full-time on-site "clerk of the works" to oversee construction services for this multi-year 14 phase project completed during continued student occupation of the facility.

 

  • Groton Public Schools (Mystic, Connecticut) Full analysis of district facilities and best location / optimal pupil capacity determination based on transportation, population growth and ethnicity balanceSchool sites were selected for development of a Pre-K programRedistricting boundaries developed to comply with state income and ethnic diversity mandateMiddle school site selected for development of new middle level programming coinciding with change of grade level structure.

  • Altoona School District (Altoona, Pennsylvania) Full analysis of district facilities and best location / optimal pupil capacity determination based on transportation and pupil location2 schools selected for closure to meet budget deficit and reduce operational costs for maintenance of property well above the district need due to student population decline. Schools selected for additions and renovations to accommodate special education needs consistently throughout the district.

  • Neshaminy School District (Levittown, Pennsylvania) Full analysis of district facilities for building optimization and restructuring of district grade levelsSeveral schools selected for closureSite selected for construction of new elementary school.

 

  • Mifflin County Schools (Lewistown, Pennsylvania) Full analysis of district facilities for building optimization and restructuring of district grade levels. Several schools selected for closure to meet $4 million budget deficitFacility master plan developed for 5-year implementation (later condensed to 3-year implementation schedule).

 

  • North Forestville Elementary School/ Community Center, North Forestville, MD  This project involved the new addition of approximately 15,000 SF consisting of offices, gymnasium, storage rooms, two-story lobby area, and support spaces. Due to the nature of the site, the entrance is located at a mid-level between the lower and upper levels. An elevator and an open staircase serve all three levels thus meeting ADA requirements.

 

  • ISB Community and K-8 Private School, Baltimore, Maryland  Mimar performed architectural services to design a new K-8 School. The project included a gymnasium, a Cafeteria, and multi-purpose rooms. Architectural services included development of the program, schematic design, design development and construction documents, and design management of engineering services. MME coordinated and directed Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and was responsible for project management, design and CADD management and construction administration.

 

  • Deerfield Run Elementary School – Renovations, Laurel, Maryland Mimar provided comprehensive renovations for this elementary school including the required replacement of the existing gymnasium flooring and alterations to existing public restrooms. In addition, MME designed a new reception desk for the revised entry lobby layout, new ceiling grid/lighting throughout and various mechanical and electrical modifications/upgrades.

 

  • Chesapeake Science Point Charter Elementary School – Renovations and Modifications, Anne Arundel County, Maryland Mimar provided fast-track interior renovations to this existing charter school. The project required design, permits and construction to be completed during the summer prior to the start of the new school year. MME met the strict schedule through extensive collaboration of the design team and project managers and obtained permits in less than two weeks.

 

  • Dunbar High School – This project involved major renovations and modifications of High-tech Medical Laboratories, Robotic Labs, Distance Learning, Gymnasium, Movie Theater, Music Classrooms, High-tech Kitchen, several classrooms and Major IT equipment installation.

 

  • Moravia Park Elementary School Mimar provided mechanical engineering design and construction services for condensate tank replacement. Scope of services included:

    • Removal of existing 1979 condensate tank assembly associated with the existing steam boilers.

    • Installation and connection of the new condensate tank assembly to the existing pipe system contained within the boiler/mechanical room.

  • Maryland School for the Blind Design/Build construction of kitchen/ dining room facility upgrade and major renovations, including the upgrade of electrical in coming services. Other responsibilities involved design, preparing construction documents and construction management.

 

  • Palmer Park/Landover Boys and Girls Club (PPLBGC), Landover, Maryland Mimar served as project architect for the planning, programming and design for this new Boys and Girls Club building. Project amenities for the Headstart Program/Daycare and before-and-after school care included classrooms, office space, a conference room, computer room, sleeping facilities and an extensive outdoor playground. In order to accommodate the need for additional storage space, MME was able to provide for several multi-use rooms/spaces throughout the project that were able to serve overlapping functions.

  • Hilton Elementary School Mimar provided Architectural and Engineering facility assessment for existing 70,000 SF school facility. Assessment included building envelope (roof, exterior walls, windows, and exterior doors) as well as interior architectural elements that would impact by the installation of an air conditioning system (mechanical room, ceiling etc.,). Cost estimates also provided including Architectural and Engineering disciplines.

 

  • The Charles Hickey School Renovations, Baltimore County, MD Mimar provided the overall design and renovations for this specialized school including general renovations/upgrades, new restrooms, ADA modifications and renovations of four buildings including the Junior and Senior Schools and gymnasiums.

 

  • Emmorton Elementary School, Harford County, MD As a sub-consultant Mimar provided design and planning services for this elementary school. Project responsibilities included schematic design, development, construction documents and construction administration.

 

  • Baltimore City Public Schools Renovations and Additions Four Elementary Schools: Harford Heights, Margaret Brent, North-Bend, Tilghmann, Baltimore, Maryland – MME along with KCI Technologies and EA Engineering provided QA/QC, construction management as well as mechanical and electrical inspection services.

 

  • Maryland Community Center/ Sunday school, Gaithersburg, Maryland Mimar designed the conversion and adaptive reuse of the existing nursery building into a Community Center and a Private School.

 

  • MCC Private School K-8 Conversion of the existing nursery building into a community center and private school. Scope included planning, preparation of construction documents, and resolving extensive zoning and planning issues involving non availability of public water, sprinkler systems and fire safety requirements.
